I found these tasty cookies over at Farming On Faith. If you haven’t had a chance to check out her blog, I highly recommend it. I’ve been wanting to make these for a couple of weeks now, but kept putting it off for one reason or the other. Having six people in the house with a huge sweet tooth didn’t help either. Ever time I would buy a bag of M & M’s, they would mysteriously disappear. :) I finally made them tonight and they turned out great. Chewy, sweet and perfect.

Amish M & M Cookies

Amish M & M Cookies

1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups peanut butter
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup M & M’s

Cream the butter and sugars together in a stand mixer. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Add peanut butter and mix until combined.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Drop by rounded tablespoon onto greased cookie sheets, or lined with a silpat mat or parchment paper.
Bake at 350 degrees for 9-10 minutes, do not over bake. I take them out while they are a little doughy.
Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then remove to a cooling rack to finish cooling completely.
