Grain Free Graham Cracker Pie Crust

When I first found out I was gluten intolerant, I thought the days of eating my favorite dessert of cheesecake was over. Goodbye graham crackers. :( An online search didn’t help much either, since I’m allergic to rice and oats, so all of the gluten free mixes are out for me. Plus, I wanted something similar to a graham cracker crust. I thought it was hopeless, until I discovered versatile Almond Meal/Flour.

Not all almond meal/flour is created equal. There is a difference between the two, something I learned through trial and error as I experimented with them. Continue reading

Homemade Caramel Sauce

I recently made a homemade caramel sauce to go with a Caramel Swirl Cheesecake I made. The resulting caramel was so tasty and so easy to make, that I just had to share the recipe with you. You’ll only need three simple ingredients for this easy-peasy caramel: honey, butter, heavy cream, and about 15 minutes of time. Is it really that easy? Yes it is.

Caramel Swirl Cheesecake - SRC

Hi there! It’s time for another delicious round of recipes from Group D at the Secret Recipe Club.

Secret Recipe Club

What’s The Secret Recipe Club you ask? Why, just the original and most fun Secret Santa of the food blog world! Members of the club are assigned another members blog each month. They pick any recipe from that blogger’s site, make it and write about it. Who has who is a secret until reveal day though (today!). There’s also a link hop at the end of the post so that I (and you) can check out all the other participating blogs and the great recipes they made.

My assignment this month was Food. Baby. Life., a blog written by Susan, a happily married business owner, wannabe domestic goddess and mom of two boys. She also lives in beautiful Australia, the land down under, and a country that is on my bucket list of places I’d like to visit. She follows the same food philosophy I do, reading labels, not buying processed foods, and making everything she can from scratch. She’s not the food police though, and like my family and I, we do enjoy the occasional fried food and ice cream.

Fudgy Cocoa Brownies

It’s time for Group D’s reveal of the Secret Recipe Club. My assignment this month was Fabulously Fun Food, a blog owned and written by the talented Melanie. This lucky woman lives in Nashville TN. which is on my bucket list of places to visit one day. She used to live in Germany, which I think is really cool to because my grandpa is from there.

As I was browsing Melanie’s blog, I was intrigued by her recipes for Grilled Chicken and Pasta in Fresh Basil-Cream Sauce and Thai Noodles with Peanut Sauce. But alas my sweet-tooth husband struck again, and convinced me to make him something sweet. I really need to start looking at my assignment when my husband is busy with other things. :)
