Homemade Heat Pack

Rice

Sore neck or back? Muscles aching? Try a homemade heating pack! It’s super easy, all you need is a cotton sock, long grain rice, and some heavy duty string.

  • Place a funnel in the open end of a clean cotton sock.
  • Pour long grain rice through the funnel into the sock until the sock is 3/4 full.
  • Tie the end of the sock tightly, so that no rice can leak out.
  • Place the sock in the microwave for 1-2 minutes, checking at 30 second intervals to make sure it hasn’t become to hot.

*Warning: Never leave the heat pack unattended while it is heating, and remove the pack immediately if you notice smoke. After heating the pack, shake it up and feel to make sure it isn’t to hot before placing it on your body.
