Mom, What’s For Supper? Weekly Menu Plan 11/18

The severe storms that swept through Indiana yesterday left a lot of damage in their wake. Straight line winds and tornado’s destroyed peoples homes, cars and property, as well as taking at least 5 lives. Considering what some lost, we were lucky in that we only received a dent in the driver side door of our Jeep from flying debris, and our awning was ripped off of our RV. Although it will take awhile, those things can be fixed. My prayers are with those today who lost so much more. May God bring peace and comfort to them as they begin the job of rebuilding, and mourn the loss of their loved ones.

My menu planning is a bit more challenging since I discovered I’m allergic to chicken, tuna, salmon, egg yolks, cauliflower, broccoli, mushrooms, and almonds. So while I may cook those foods for my family, I will be sticking to beef, pork, turkey, cod, tilapia, and egg whites.

Mom, What’s For Supper? Weekly Menu Plan 11/11

Happy Memorial Day, a day of celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism and willingness to serve and sacrifice for their country. We at Angels Homestead would just like to thank all of our veterans retired and currently serving in the armed forces. We appreciate your service!

My menu will be challenging for the next month. After seeing an allergy specialist last week, I found out I have quite a few things I’m allergic to. In fact, the list of what I’m not allergic to might be a little shorter. While some of the foods I tested positive for were expected, like wheat and oats, some of them were a little shocking, such as egg yolks, nuts, cauliflower and broccoli. Although some of the healthier stuff I’m supposedly allergic to may just be food sensitivities since I eat a pretty limited diet. So to rule them actual allergies, the specialist is having me do an elimination diet. If I still have issues with them after removing them from my diet for 2 weeks, then reintroducing them, then she will label it a true allergy.

Mom, What’s For Supper? Weekly Menu Plan 10/28

The cold snap we had last week seems to have left our area thank goodness, and sunny Fall temps are back once again. Hopefully old man Winter will hold off a few more weeks. We’re still trying to finalize our plans to take our RV down to Florida in December. My husband is renovating it, and still has quite a bit more work left to do. If all goes as scheduled though, we will head out the first week of December and enjoy 5 months of mild temps and no snow.
