Wow, the last day of September. This month went by way to fast, but I’m super glad to see Fall here finally. Cooler temps, the leaves starting to change colors and bonfires at night. I absolutely love this time of year, and am happy to see it’s arrival.

Sorry I haven’t posted my menu the last couple of weeks. I’ve been feeling under the weather, and while I did have a hand written menu up on my fridge, it wasn’t very imaginative. I didn’t want to bore you with sandwiches and quick, throw together meals.
The weather has been all over the place lately. Cool one day, hot the next. Fall is on it’s way, but Summer is being stubborn and trying it’s best to hang on. The leaves are just starting to turn colors though, so I know my beloved Autumn is right around the corner. The weather is forecast to be in the 70′s all week, with lows in the 40′s and 50′s at night. I LOVE it. If anyone comes to visit, they’ll more then likely find me in my back yard with a bonfire going. It’s one of my favorite Fall activities, sitting around with family and friends, and maybe enjoying a drink or two.

Happy Labor Day! I hope all of you have been enjoying the unofficial good-bye to Summer weekend. Its hard to believe that summer has flown by as fast as it has, and the cooler days of Autumn are right around the corner. School has started back up on the homestead, and I have actually started pulling out our winter clothes to wash and have ready for colder weather. I for one am happy to see Fall time approaching. It’s my absolute favorite time of year, and I can’t wait for the leaves to start changing colors, and sitting outside in the evening, enjoying a bonfire without being ate alive by mosquito’s. After the nice, cool temps we had last week, the heat wave has returned. Not surprising since it’s still August, but it sure was nice to get a little preview of Fall, which will be here before you know it.
Not sure if it’s a local event or not, but has anyone else noticed the zucchini harvest is pretty slim this year? Even the store shelves don’t have much to offer. How is zucchini doing in your area?
