Hello again! This reveal I have the pleasure of sharing TWO recipes with you due to a cancellation from one of our group members of the Secret Recipe Club. I love finding new recipes though, so I was more then happy to fill in. What’s the Secret Recipe Club you ask? Well, if you haven’t heard of it, where have you been?! Just kidding : )
Each Monday a group of bloggers post their recipes from their secretly assigned blog and reveal themselves to everyone. Sometimes on Reveal Day there’s what we call an orphan. That means that whoever was supposed to make something from this particular blog didn’t. Whether they simply forgot or had a real life emergency, it still leaves someone without a reveal to look forward to. The wonderful thing about The Secret Recipe Club is that no one likes to see anyone left out. So quite often when word spreads, someone will come forward and make something from that blog. Today that would be me, the owner of the club.
As I browsed Kelly’s blog The Culinary Enthusiast I was treated to a delicious selection of recipes to chose from. Cream Biscuits, Chicken Gyros with Homemade Tzatziki Sauce, and Sweet Potato Soup were just a few of the yummy dishes I pondered over whether to make. I ultimately decided on making her Banana Cinnamon Chip Bread. Doesn’t that just sound like it would taste fantastic? Let me assure you, it does! This bread came out moist, sweet and oh so good. It is a definite must try, and a great change of pace from regular banana bread.
Thank you Kelly for another awesome recipe to add to my collection.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease a 8 1/2 by 4 1/2 loaf pan and dust lightly with flour.
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
In a separate large bowl, mix the bananas, butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla together until well combined.
Add the flour mixture and stir gently to incorparate. Don’t over mix. Fold in the cinnamon chips and just until combined.
In a small bowl, stir together the 1/3 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon.
Spoon the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top down. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar topping over the batter.
Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the middle of the loaf comes out clean.
Let bread cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan. Allow to cool completely before slicing.

Love banana bread and the addition of cinnamon sounds awesome..unfortunately we don’t get cinnamon chips in Canada
Great SRC pick!
Thank you Sarah.
While the chips are a little hard to find, they are definitely worth the search Cindy.
Casey, the chips take this banana bread over the top in flavor.
Me to Jess, I’d love to try them in a cookie next.
We loved it Kelly! Glad I found it on your blog.
Well that sucks Asiya! They’re pretty hard to find here too. I don’t know if they ship to Canada, but the King Arthur Flour website sells them.
