Talk about easy! This spaghetti sauce is super easy to put together, and actually taste like the store bought kind, only better. My daughter who’s the main pasta eater in the family, said it’s the only kind of spaghetti sauce she wants me to make from now on. I agree.
Easy Homemade Spaghetti Sauce
Adapted From: Pocket Change Gourmet
1 Tbs. minced onion
1 tsp. olive oil
2 cans {16 oz} tomato sauce
2 Tbs. Italian Seasoning blend
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. sugar
salt to taste
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat
Add minced onion, garlic powder and 1 tablespoon of italian seasoning blend and saute about one minute
Add the tomato sauce and the other tablespoon of seasoning
Heat to boiling and reduce heat to simmer
Simmer for about 30 minutes until thick
This recipe is also great in the crock pot, after you saute the onions and garlic just add them to the crock pot and add the rest of the ingredients. Cook on low about 2 hours.
