Colby/Jack Cheese Sauce {Gluten Free}

Posted in Gluten Free, gravy and sauces

My family is picky when it comes to eating vegetables. I usually have no problem getting them to eat green beans or potatoes, but when it comes to things like carrots, broccoli and cauliflower, I have to “doctor” them up a little to get them to eat it. For the broccoli and cauliflower I always made a little cheese sauce to drizzle over them, and my family gobbled them up. I’ll confess I enjoy it too. : )

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

My family likes potatoes just about any way I make them, fried, mashed, baked, they’ll devour them. Luckily they are economical as well as nutritious. Did you know potatoes are a good source of fiber, potassium and vitamin C, especially if you eat the skin?

Au gratin potatoes are a delicious side dish that my family really enjoys What’s not to love though with all of that cheesy goodness baked into it. This dish is easy to make, and doesn’t require a lot of ingredients, two of the main things I look for in a recipe besides tasting good.

Ultimate Garlic Breadsticks & Garlic Bread Seasoning

Posted in breads, DIY Foods

As some of my readers know, I’ve been trying lately to post on a more regular basis. Well, that was sidelined this week when I was hit with a major Fibro attack. I’ve been pretty sick for the last three days, two of them lying in bed, to sick and in pain to move. This evening I’m feeling just a tad bit better, so I wanted to get back to blogging and share with you a recipe for some of the best tasting bread sticks you would ever want to eat. Ultimate Garlic Bread Sticks.

My family loves pizza, so much so that we actually have a weekly pizza and movie night. We rent a couple of movies we want to see, and enjoy them while munching on homemade pizza. What goes best with pizza? Why bread sticks of course! I never have had much luck with shaping bread sticks though, they always wind up way to big on the ends and misshapen in their shape. While it didn’t affect the taste any, it always bothered me.

Cheeseburger Soup

When I first seen this soup floating around the blogosphere it seemed interesting, but I had no idea it would turn out as good as it did.

Soup is the ultimate comfort food. It warms you up on a cold Winter day, as well as during the warmer months when your feeling under the weather and need a little comforting. This filling, cheesy soup does just that. Not only does it taste good, but I love the fact that it’s loaded with veggies and my family didn’t complain one bit. After chopping most of them up small in my food processor, they barely even noticed they were in there. Score!

Stuffed-Crust Bacon Double Cheeseburger Pizza

Posted in beef, Pizza

Kids of all ages, and especially my family loves pizza and cheeseburgers, and this recipe combines them both into one delicious dish. And to make it really cheesy and special, why not add cheese to the crust too!

I first heard of stuffed-crust pizza in the mid 90′s when Pizza Hut came out with it. Boy was it good. I was never one to eat the outer edge of the crust until that brilliant idea came along. Alas I don’t eat at Pizza Hut anymore since their quality has went down so much, and now make my own homemade pizza. My family and I think homemade taste loads better then a restaurant or store bought version, and we like the fact that we can customize them to suit our taste.

This pizza/cheeseburger combo, with yummy melted cheese in the crust has become a family favorite, and has been on the menu for the last 3 weeks for our weekly pizza and movie night. I make two pizzas for our family of four, and there are never any leftovers.
