Crock Pot Applesauce

This recipe is so easy and simple, it almost isn’t a recipe. But when you taste this applesauce for the first time, your mouth will sing it’s praises. After my first spoonful, I almost couldn’t stop eating it, it’s that good. I will never go back to store bought again, that’s for sure.

Crock Pot Applesauce

8 apples - peeled, cored and roughly chopped
1 cup water
1/3 - 1/2 cup sugar (The amount you use depends on the sweetness of your apples. Mine were tart, so I used 1/2 cup)
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

In a crock pot combine apples, water, sugar, and cinnamon.
Cover and cook on high for 1 hour, then turn to low heat and cook an additional 6 hours.
Allow to cool slightly, then mash with a fork or potato masher to desired consistency.
Store in the refrigerator in an air-tight container and use within 2 weeks.

  1. Easy apple sauce. I actually didn't add anything to my apples and they were wonderful! I peeled, chopped and froze a bunch of apples then I would throw them in the slowcooker at night and have yummy apple sauce in the morning!

  2. Great idea! The apples I had were very tart though, so sugar was a necessity. Never thought to freeze apples in chunks for stuff like that, thanks!
