Dijon Turkey Burgers

Posted in turkey

I love a good beef burger most of the time, but once in awhile you just want to mix it up a little and have something different. Like a turkey burger. While turkey is a pretty bland flavored meat, there’s nothing boring about the taste of these burgers. Dijon mustard, garlic and onion give these burgers a wow factor that you wont soon forget.

Turkey Burgers

Turkey meat is a lot leaner then beef, and tends to dry out quickly, so be careful not to overcook it. The directions below are for frying them, but they would taste great grilled too! If you do grill them, refrigerate them for an hour or so to help them hold together better, and make sure to brush the grate with oil to prevent them from sticking.

Dijon Turkey Burgers

Makes 4 burgers.

1 pound ground turkey
1/4 cup diced onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 tablespoons dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
2 tablespoons light olive oil

Place all of the ingredients except olive oil into a bowl and mix to combine. Shape into 4 patties.

Add olive oil to a pan over medium heat.

Once oil is hot, place patties into pan and cook for about 5 minutes on each side.

Serve with some fresh Pico De Gallo or cheddar cheese slices on buns, or over a green salad.
