Don’t let the ease of preparing these fool you. The flavor can only be called awesomeness on a stick. Slightly sweet, the honey, soy sauce and garlic mingle together to make the perfect accompaniment to the smoky flavor of the sausage. I prepared them for a family cookout this past Friday, and they were devoured so quickly I was lucky to snap any pictures at all! They got a resounding two thumbs up from everyone. Try them at your next cookout, you wont be disappointed.

Smoked Sausage Kabobs

You can enjoy these year round by cooking them in your oven on the broiler setting.

1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup dijon mustard
2 Tablespoons light olive oil
1 Tablespoon soy sauce
2 garlic cloves, minced
1-1/4 pounds smoked sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 small package whole white mushrooms
1 green pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
Use whatever veggies you desire, the ones listed above just happen to be our favorites

Place the first five ingredients into a large bowl and mix well.

Add the sausage and veggies and toss gently to coat. Drain and reserve the marinade.

Thread the sausage and veggies onto metal or water soaked wooden skewers. You can alternate them if you'd like, but I always place the meat and veggies on seperate skewers, in case one of them cooks faster then the other one.

Grill over medium-hot coals for about 5 minutes per side, or until veggies are tender and meat is heated through. Baste with the reserved marinade several times through the cooking process.
